Around the time I was twelve years old, I started experimenting with cutting figures and shapes out of magazines. By the time I was a Junior in high school, this had escalated quite a lot. I was really interested in the idea of building an image out of pieces cut from magazines, but now rather than cutting out figures, merely exploiting the image on the page for it’s color, and cutting out pieces of paper to resemble brushstrokes.
It was a very meticulous project, with very little room for mistakes. Each little flower took about twenty minutes to make, to give you an idea of the time that went into this project.
